1. Prices shown here are approximate. An estimate is required for a definitive price.

Grandfather clock service includes free local pickup and delivery of the movement, weights, pendulum, and dial within the designated delivery service area. An extra charge applies for the extended service area shown above—see map for details. A rate of $2.25 per mile applies beyond that. Other clocks must be dropped off and picked up at our shop. Costs may be higher if parts need to be fabricated or purchased. Free estimates are available. We provide complete services only; we do not repair individual problems in isolation.

Full-service prices (above) apply when significant wear and tear on the movement is present. During the estimate process, we can determine whether a full service is required. If you bring your clock in every five years, you will most likely not need a full service and may qualify for a 20% to 30% discount. Dusty conditions can shorten this interval. The discount applies only to the cleaning and servicing of the movement and does not apply to case repairs, trip charges, or hourly rates.

2. What’s a train? Did you know your clock has at least one train in it? "Train" refers to a series of gears (we call 'em wheels) that drive up to four different functions in a clock:

  • Time Train – Moves the hands (every clock has this train—otherwise, it’s not much of a clock!).

  • Strike Train – Sounds the time at the top of the hour, whether it’s a ding, a cuckoo, or a bell.

  • Chime Train – Drives the musical chimes heard on the quarter-hour or, for cuckoo clocks, on the half-hour and top of the hour.

  • Animation Train – Typically found only in cuckoo clocks, powering dancers or other animated features. While often powered by the Chime (music) train, it is still considered a separate train.

  •

The base cost includes one train. Additional trains (up to three) incur the extra cost shown. For example, a small cuckoo clock that plays music would be charged the base price plus two additional trains (one for the bird and one for the music).

3. These clocks are listed without train upcharges because they typically follow the configurations shown or are only available in a single configuration.

The warranty is contingent upon full payment and applies only to clocks that have undergone complete servicing. It excludes the cost of parts, including any additional parts needed to fulfill the warranty, though all labor expenses are covered. The warranty period is one year from the date of clock delivery. Customers with service contracts are entitled to a two-year warranty.

Repairs require a full service. We enforce this policy to ensure the best experience and the longest possible lifespan for your clock. Simply fixing a broken spring, for example, may get the clock running temporarily, but only a full service guarantees reliable operation for years to come. Full service also includes a one-year warranty at no additional charge.

Payment Terms:
Cash or check only. No third-party checks and no credit or debit cards. A 50% deposit is required upfront, with the remaining balance due upon pickup or delivery of your completed clock.
